Bhai Dalla
Dalla boasted that if his soldiers were there,
the Guru would not have suffered losses in the Battle of Chamkaur. Guru
Gobind Singh remained quiet, but the next day when someone presented the
Guru with a new gun, he asked Dalla to get one of his soldiers as target
for a testfire. All of his men were boggled. On contrast with the Guru
asked Dalla to give a call to his Sikhs, two of them (father and son) instantly
came running forward and fiercely vied with each other to receive the shot.
He asked them to stand one after the other and fired a shot above their
heads, saying,
'Look Dalla, that is like what my Sikhs were.' |
